Dummy EVM In MP, State Govt Dismisses The Collector, Congress Raises Questions Over Fair Elections

The unfair play in Madhya Pradesh during the byelections has stormed out the outburst among the political parties, claiming that the elections in the country are not going as per proper concerns and regards.

As far as now, the respective district collector of Bhind has been ousted, and more than 20 members have been taken into custody. After all this fiasco of machines, the Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal asserted that how can one trust the results of the elections that will be conducted across the state, where over 12,000 EVMs will be used.

And as per the sources, Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machine used during a trial in Madhya Pradesh only dispensed slips with the BJP’s poll symbol. Various political leaders took a step forward questioning the issue.

“EVMs, as per law, cannot be taken out for forty-five days from the date of declaration of results, but still EVMs for the by-polls in the Madhya Pradesh were taken out. A person can file a petition within forty-five days and the mentioned days are still not over” said Congress leader Shobha Oza.
“Free and fair elections are important because with a vote, comes a voice,” she added.

In order to get fair results, equally fair elections must be conducted and the concerned state or region must know what people’s voice is. “If there are reports of tampering with electronic voting machines (EVMs), the Election Commission must investigate the matter and should clear our doubts. It should conduct its work in a transparent manner,” said Congress leader Jai Parkash Aggarwal.

However, the AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal went on giving his idea on conducting the polling through paper ballots, unlike the machine ones. He criticized the Election Commission of India over this mishappenings and ECI equally countered back stating that they should focus on performing well in the elections.

However, in its letter, ECI mentioned: “The Commission is fully satisfied with the tamper proof functioning of the ECI-EVMs.”
